Harleys Little Black Book #3 Books Reviews

harely is a good laturn in this book she was the red and green laturn and get the rings in ebay is funny also she and the green laturn save New York overall a good comic I enjoy this book.
6 issues in this series and all are a must have!
Harley's Little Black Book is cute, funny, and full of mischief as Harley meets her hero, Wonder Woman. Great art and beautiful colors with a great story for an enjoyable read.
This was a super fun read. Totally dug the story, great art, and it exceeded my expectations. This was exactly what it should have been. Well, well done.
Harley's back! I have been really worried with the last few collections of Harley as I think the writing has declined tremendously so I was hesitate to buy this one. I'm so happy I did! The first story alone is worth the price of the book with a flashback to Harley as a little girl. The other stories are great as she teams up or meets up with various heroes. The only part I didn't like was the last story with Lobo, great to see Bisley artwork again, but since Lobo is a bad guy, the team-up didn't really work for me.
This isn't my first time reading a Harley Quinn comic as it happens. I read the Loot Crate exclusive comic which featured Harley finding a magic lamp. It was a silly little tale and I quite liked it. As I understand it, the Harley comics are a "love it/hate it" thing. I absolutely loved this comic.

Harley tries to save Wonder Woman from people trying to knock her out and sell her to the highest bidder. Things don't go exactly as planned of course but Wonder Woman isn't sold down the river

I'm so out of touch with comics that I didn't know Harley turned into an antihero although I'm happy that she's turning into her own character. Harley was the only villain I truly felt sorry for.

Harley apparently has a talking stuffed beaver and....an egg that talks? I'll be happy to know the origins of those two.

It was the cover art of this book that got me intrigued into getting it.

The writing was witty and the art was good
Amanda Conner and Jimmy Palmiotti's "Harley's Little Black Book" pairs Harley Quinn up with various other characters in the DC Universe for a series of zany tales drawn from the larger DC continuity. The stories involve Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Zatanna, the DC Bombshells, Superman, and Lobo, each with its own jokes and intertwined continuity. For example, the first three issues involve the London Legion of Superheros while the second three relate to mystical balls Harley Quinn steals from Superman. Half of the humor comes from Quinn being starstruck about the other heroes and the rest from the situations Conner and Palmiotti dreamed up for them. The Superman story plays with a great deal of the late Silver Age stories, with art by Neal Adams and Conner and Palmiotti offering "apologies to Denny O'Neil. And yes, you too, Neal Adams." Some of the jokes reference the then-current 2016 primaries, a joke at the expense of Dan DiDio, the co–publisher of DC Comics, and a sly reference to Han Solo. My only complaint is about Simon Bisley's art in the Lobo story. While it evokes that of magazines like "2000 A.D." from the 1980s (as befitting a character like Lobo), it's jarringly different than anything in the other Harley Quinn stories. With that said, this is further proof of Conner and Palmiotti's inventiveness during their stewardship of Harley Quinn.
Harley's Little Black Book is a series of vaguely connected one shots that see Harley interacting with various major characters from across the DC Universe. Crossing over with Lobo, Wonder Woman, Superman, Green Lantern, Zatanna, and even the Bombshells Universe, the series serves a major feature on Harley's exploding popularity over the last few years. When Wonder Woman is targeted for assassination Harley steps up to save her idol, when two Power Rings (red and black) intertwine and possess Harley GL needs to stop her from destroying New York, when old timey circus ghosts haunt her apartment building Zatanna helps the exorcism, when Harely steals magical objects from Superman's Fortress she's transported first into the alternate universe of the Bombshells where the DC heroines fight in WW2 and then into space where she and Lobo get stranded on a barren planet. By far the best issue in my opinion is the one in which Harely and Superman reenact a classic Neal Adams one shot in which Supes boxed Muhammad Ali. Adams returns to do the art for the issue that sees Harely stepping into the role of Ali with her and Supes forced to box over the fate of the Earth for the entertainment of alien invaders. The one shots are all rather entertaining aside from the fact that the first three issues often slow the pace to introduce a goofy group of London based superheroes (the Zatanna issue is probably the least interesting as it spends an inordinate amount of time with these heroes). I'm not sure if the London heroes featured into Conner and Palminotti's main Harley series, but they drop out of the mini series around the time of Harley's intergalactic and time traveling shenanigans in the final three issues. Overall, the series is fun enough but definitely for fans of Conner and Palminotti's zany series that made Harely more of an antihero.
