I'm addicted to my kindle so it's no surprise that I'd find a story about a spirit inhabited kindle to be a fun one. I really enjoyed this book up until I hit its cliffhanger. I hate cliffhangers and probably would've avoided the entire book if I'd realized it was there. I debated lowering the score to 3 stars just because of that but decided that wouldn't be fair as the writing deserved that 4th star - as evidenced by the fact that I'm now addicted enough to want to read the next book. So yes, 4 stars for its quality but avoid this if you hate cliffhangers.Product details

Great premise! Not quite a genie in a bottle, but a spirit in my sounds intriguing. How did he get there? There's a story worth reading. How will he get out of her and reunited with his body? Another story, there.
The heroine's job milking chinchillas (for gourmet cheese) had I not read that a UK company sells ice cream made of human breast milk, I'd have tossed the book on the spot. As it is, the chinchilla thing sounds so far fetched, I almost wish it hadn't been in this novel. Then again, some things are so unbelievable, they could only have happened in real life, or no author would have thought of it. (Corollary some scenes are so surreal, they could only have come from the author's REM-sleep dreams. Time after time, authors have told me I guessed right on that.)
I wanted to review this for Perihelion Science Fiction ezine, but the science lurched off into the realm of fantasy, and Perihelion is devoted to *hard science fiction* with no YA, no sorcery.
The story is fun and engaging. Fans of women's fiction, fantasy, and paranormal should appreciate it. Hard-core science fiction fans, not so much.
The concept was interesting to begin with, how someone could become involved with a spirit that popped out of a . Sounds good, turns out its not so good. I read the entire book, liked some of the special effects, but overall by the end I had decided I wasn't interested enough to go for the second in the series, even tho this one definitely ended with a cliff hanger. The author has great imagination, writes well, I just didn't much care for the storyline.
The idea of a spirit trapped inside a is interesting. Then the spirit (of a guy) transfers into a young woman. Good start.
The plot moves quickly, the story's pacing never leaves you feeling bored. The characters are well-developed. Not many grammatical errors.
Overall, an enjoyable read.
...Until the end. Once the heroes defeat the villain, the heroine uncovers a unique dilemma in her life, but instead of exploring it, the story just stops. The story was strong enough by itself to entice the reader toward a sequel; unfortunately, the author didn't trust her material enough or her readers to allow a more natural ending to occur and segue into the sequel rather than just tacking on a new problem to resolve in the next installment.
It was too cutesy for me and I didn't care for it. Perhaps it should have been marketed for New Adults.
I think my is defective. It didn't come with a man. Maybe I should send it back.
The thing I loved the most about Special Offers was the characters…no the quirky humor…no the inventive storyline…I'll have to get back to you on that. Long story short, I loved this book. I knew from page one that I was going to like Hailey. First of all, she has this sarcastic wit going on. She made me laugh through the entire book. I loved being in her head. Second, she is a book hoarder, so I can relate to her. Hailey decided it was time for a because she didn't have room for any more books (I can sympathize). Only her came with a "special" special offer…in the form of a man. But, there is a catch – that man, Sebastian, wants to share Hailey's body.
Sebastian is so much fun. I loved having his commentary in the story, albeit inside Hailey's head. The banter between Sebastian and Hailey is hilarious. Alex is a sweet guy, and him and Hailey hit it off right away, which is good since they have to work together to get Sebastian out of Hailey's body.
This story was easy and entertaining, and the author's writing style made me a fan
Finally an urban fantasy I can enjoy! (also, I can finish) No vampires. No werewolves. No politics. No love triangles. Just fun. I love this author's style. I love the voices I hear as I read each character. Each unique and sounding true. I especially enjoyed the female lead character and her relationship with the male lead. The story pace was perfect and the plot had just the right amount of action and suspense for me. The friendships were special. The romance was gentle, sweet and loving. I am a male sci-fi fantasy lover who enjoys romance in the background. This met all my requirements perfectly. I am off to the next book, and next chapter in the Coursodon Dimension series. This is fun reading.
