When Jack meets Edward at a traffic stop, his world is rocked -- and not for the better. Edward is the gayest man he's ever seen, and Spring Lake is a small town just getting comfortable with its own new gay couple, Brian Russell and Rush Weston. Unlike Edward, Rush and Brian are big, strapping, manly men. But manly isn't what turns Jack on. It's Edward -- everything about the younger man drives Jack wild with desire and the need to control Edward's wild, impetuous spirit.

For Edward, his attraction to "bad boys" has been his romantic downfall. His heart's been broken so many times he's lost count. When he meets Jack, Edward falls for the all-American by-the-book lawman, but finds his attempts rebuffed and his pride severely wounded. Jack's straight, or at least says he is, but Edward knows that look in Jack's eyes, he's seen it before from other men. How can a man so right be so wrong?

Edward tempts Jack beyond anyone he's ever met and his desire for Edward builds each time he encounters the younger man, until he can no longer deny it or himself. But Edward doesn't want sex on the side, he wants forever. He wants the fairy tale.

Can Jack give Edward what he wants or will Jack's fear of being ridiculed for his choice of a partner keep them from their Happily Ever After?

Edward Unconditionally Common Powers 3 Lynn Lorenz 9781607374121 Books

I didn't want to put this book down, I was captivated from the first page. All the characters are interesting and likable, especially the dog! The book flows well with a real story, and the main characters, Edward and Jack, both discover their true self and become stronger and happier. I really liked the characters' growth, and I felt it was clear why they acted the way they did. There were parts that I laughed out loud. The few sex scenes are incredibly erotic. There's a paranormal element in the book which I found fascinating. I highly recommend this book and I will look for more Lynn Lorenz's books. A real joy to read.

Other's have summarized the plot, so I don't go into it again. This is the second book I've read in this series, and again, the paranormal aspect is the one which sits uneasily with me. Though Edward's healing ability is more part of the plot than in the previous book, I still don't know why all these men have these freakish talents, and what it means that they are all finding each other...

Edward is a very out there gay man, whose dog Winston bites the Sheriff when Edward is pulled over for speeding. Jack is deeply in the closet, very invested in being Sheriff, and playing it safe, but he is dazzled by Edward. He has seen a new gay couple be generally accepted by the town, but they are both very manly men. Edward is different kind of gay, and Jack feels that he will be rejected if he brings this gay man into his home. Though they do eventually fall for each other, there are contrived misunderstandings, and Jack's vulnerability to Edward's mother's machinations surprise me. If Jack has outed himself for Edward, I'm surprised he would be fooled so easily. Also, big plot holes with the mother, whose relationship with her mother, the grandmother, is never clarified.

I didn't mind Edward Unconditionally, but it's far from unconditional love! I've read much better books. I was surprised actually at all the rave reviews. This is by no means a bad book, but it's not exceptionally well written and the erotic tension doesn't sing.. so I would rate is a fair 3.5 stars - happy to be reading it when I've got it in my hands, but it doesn't linger, like Harper Fox's books do, and wasn't as hot as Jez Morrow's books are, nor is it as well written as Josh Lanyon's books. So it's perfectly acceptable, but there is better stuff out there. I rate it a firm B, but not 5 stars, not at all!
Edward Unconditionally is the third story in the Common Powers series. The MCs in these books have unusual powers and in this one Edward is able to heal or at least remove pain from other people. When he meets the chief of police he realizes that the chief is very ill, perhaps dying. There are major consequences when Edward tries to heal this closeted man, which leads Edward to realize he has to rein in his powers sometimes.
When Edward is reunited with his grandmother she has to tell him not to heal her, which is difficult since she is the one person in Edward’s life who loves him unconditionally.
This may be the sweetest book in the series and I want to read it again.
A Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words Review An Alisa Review

Rating 3 stars out of 5

From their first meeting Jack and Edward’s relationship seems to be a comedy of errors. Jack is embarrassed and then on top of that has to take Edward’s dog home. They both push each other’s buttons, both the good and the bad, but have to learn a little about adapting too.

I didn’t quite connect with these characters as much as I did in the other books and felt that there was more to Jack’s backstory than what was told. He continues to push Edward away and suddenly gives into his feelings to stand beside him and it just came out of the blue to me.

I did feel for Edward, he had been pushed away by his father and manipulated by his mother for most of his life and just as he is getting to know that one person who loves him no matter what he loses her. But Olivia left a good base for Jack to finally latch on to. I loved the support these two got from those around them and getting to see everyone from the previous books some more.

The cover art by Posh Gosh is great, I love the visual of Winston and continues the pattern for the series.
My eyes stayed glued in this book!!! I don't know why but even Winston was a favorite for me. After reading this, I have to get the others ones also, I never imagined it being this good but I'm happy that it was. Jack was attracted to Edward right from the beginning but was scared to admit and show his feelings yet at times he couldn't help himself. It's just an amazing book, you have to read it for yourself and find out though.
I liked the writing-the plot-the continuity from scene to scene.Everything made sense and was explained.I say this 1st because some writers think it's ok to leave gaps in the plot as long as the sex scenes are steamy.I don't agree with that and it spoils a book for me.So yes,I enjoyed the book.It was funny, sexy, and included a lovable doggy. The dialect of the southern character was great. The other characters were written nicely. It all fell together into a great read. It will be read again! I recommend it highly.
